Dr. Vaughn DeCoster
LCSW
Vaughn grew up in the Arkansas River Valley, received a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Arkansas, a M.S.W. from Tulane University, and a Ph.D. from Louisiana State University. He has been a social worker for over 30 years and remains passionate at helping people grow, nurture relationships, and achieve peace.
Over the years as a therapist and university professor, he’s acquired a lot of helpful tools that target feelings, thoughts, and behaviors, some techniques even involve photography. He believes, though, that you’re the “expert” on your life and sees therapy as a creative, collaborative endeavor, experimenting with strategies until “...together we find what works best for you.”
Vaughn is a U.S. Army Veteran and commanded a combat stress team in Iraq in 2006-07. Dr. DeCoster lives in Greenwood with his wife of over three decades, has two grown sons, and enjoys cooking and flying airplanes.
